Welcome September and Rain

September 2, 2014

Good afternoon everyone!
It’s going to be an amazing autumn season filled with opportunities to perform with Fringe Percussion (@FringePerc) and Ethos Collective (@ethoscollective).

I would like to recap my summer travels and happenings briefly. The Sidewalk Cellist and I shared the stage 4 times in June as part of her 3rd annual outdoor concert series. I performed an awesomely fun concert with Out In Harmony. Then I traveled to Bamfield, BC to play for Music By The Sea, which was amazing. If you’re not familiar with Bamfield check it out on google maps.

During the month of August I was invited to accompany my teacher Smt. Neeraja Aptikar. I got to sing as well as accompany her on Harmonium and Tabla. I had an awesome presentation of the new Alvaro Rojas Quintet featuring James Meger, Jon Patton, Omar Amlani, and Alvaro Rojas. To end the month I composed two sets of music for contrasting trios that featured Meredith Bates, Evan Bates, Doug Gorkoff, and Jeremy Price. This summer was truly a pleasure.

Onto September! The rain today reminds me that fall is coming, but I’m hoping for great sunny weather on September 13th and 14th. On September 13th Fringe Percussion is joining forces with guitarist/singer Adrian Glynn to perform at St. James Hall. The very next day September 14th Ethos Collective is performing a show entitled “On The Echoing Green” with soprano Camille Hesketh featuring a new work by composer Graham Flett at VanDusen Gardens.

The best way to stay tuned is by following me on twitter @TAVanCleave and www.facebook.com/drtimothyvancleave.

Best wishes for an awesome 2014-2015 concert season!
